Position Summary

Windemere Apartments is seeking a dependable, skilled Roofing Repair & Apartment Maintenance Technician for a full-time, year-round position. We are looking for a hands-on technician with strong experience in the art of roofing repair—especially diagnosing leaks and completing durable repairs—not simply new-roof installation.

This position will also support maintenance needs throughout the apartment community, including basic plumbing, electrical, drywall, painting, appliance, and general repair work in occupied and vacant apartments.

The ideal candidate is safety-focused, capable of working at heights, physically able to perform demanding maintenance work, and committed to completing repairs correctly the first time.

Pay and Schedule

• Full-time, year-round employment

• $23.00–$27.00 per hour, depending on experience and demonstrated technical skill

• Regular work schedule with possible emergency or after-hours maintenance support as needed

Primary Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair roofing problems, including leaks, damaged shingles, flashing, vents, roof penetrations, gutters, and related exterior components

• Conduct roof inspections and preventative maintenance to identify issues before they become major repairs

• Safely use ladders, hand tools, power tools, fall-protection equipment, and other required safety equipment

• Perform basic apartment maintenance repairs, including plumbing, electrical, drywall, painting, caulking, doors, locks, appliances, and general unit-turn work

• Respond to maintenance work orders in occupied apartments and common areas in a professional, resident-focused manner

• Assist with apartment turns, make-readies, preventative maintenance, grounds-related repairs, and emergency maintenance needs

• Keep work areas clean, protect resident property, properly store tools and materials, and document completed work

• Follow company safety standards, OSHA requirements, and all applicable policies for ladder use, roof access, fall protection, and electrical safety

Required Experience and Qualifications

• At least 2 years of hands-on roofing repair experience, including roof leak detection, shingle repair, flashing repair, vent repairs, and roof penetration repairs

• At least 2 years of construction, apartment maintenance, residential maintenance, or related skilled-trades experience

• Working knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical, drywall, painting, appliance, and general repair work

• Ability to independently assess repair needs, troubleshoot problems, and complete high-quality repairs with minimal supervision

• Spanish-speaking ability is required or strongly preferred

• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation preferred

Physical and Safety Requirements

• Ability to safely climb and work from high ladders, rooftops, and elevated work areas

• Ability to safely lift, carry, move, and load heavy tools, roofing materials, maintenance supplies, and equipment

• Ability to perform physically demanding work, including bending, kneeling, reaching, climbing, standing, walking, and working outdoors in changing weather conditions

• Must consistently use required personal protective equipment, including appropriate footwear, gloves, eye protection, harnesses, and fall-protection equipment when required

• Must demonstrate safe work habits around ladders, roofs, electrical systems, hand tools, power tools, residents, and other team members

• Must be dependable, punctual, professional, and able to work independently while following safety procedures

This is a role for a technician who can identify a roof leak, make a lasting repair, safely access elevated work areas, and then assist with the plumbing, electrical, or maintenance issue inside an apartment.
